About the event
PRACTICING IN A PANDEMIC: TELEHEALTH & CYBERSECURITY The rapid expansion of telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic has provided many benefits to both practitioners and their patients. However, the expansion of this technology also creates liability risks for physicians, including licensure issues, and increased risk of cyberattacks and other privacy issues. Join us as Dr. Salvatore Volpe, and an attorney from Fager Amsler Keller & Schoppmann, LLP, discuss the evolution of telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic and the various risks associated with this technology. At the end of this presentation, the participants will be able to identify licensure issues associated with telehealth; discuss the relaxed telehealth requirements; obtain adequate informed consent for telehealth encounters; outline strategies to lessen the risk of privacy breaches; and describe appropriate measures to mitigate medical liability risks associated with telehealth. MLMIC is accredited by the Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
