ABOUT
Let's Shine a Light on Our Mission, Vision, Agenda, and Leaders
Join us in creating a brighter, more expansive medical field for the physicians of tomorrow.

OUR MISSION
As the Nassau Academy of Medicine evolves we aim to preserve the Academy’s original purpose. We will continue to “diffuse among people knowledge of the achievements of scientific medicine” through the “educational opportunities and training of a postgraduate nature for members of the medical profession in Nassau County.” Moving forward, we aspire to not only provide educational opportunities but also ensure access to virtual and/or in-person events that offer free CME credits to all members. In essence, we will administer the means to better serve patients and deliver a higher quality of care through advancing the medical education of all levels of physicians in Nassau County. By establishing and maintaining an online database of medical journals and publications of our members, we look to showcase their accomplishments and light the path of greatness for all future physicians. Furthermore, we strive to serve as a resource and offer unconditional support to our members through every step of their journey in the medical field.
OUR VISION
Will you help us shape the future of medicine?

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT, RONALD B. MENZIN, MD
Dear Members of the Nassau Academy of Medicine,
It is a privilege to address you as President of the Nassau Academy of Medicine. I am deeply honored to serve an organization defined by its commitment to excellence, compassion, and leadership in healthcare. As we move forward together, I am inspired by both our legacy and the opportunities before us to strengthen our impact on medicine and the communities we serve.
A central pillar of our work remains education, not only maintaining high standards, but continuously elevating them. In the coming months, we will expand educational offerings that are practical, forward-thinking, and responsive to the realities of modern medicine. From interactive learning sessions to collaborative case discussions and multidisciplinary forums, our goal is to ensure that each member has access to meaningful, relevant opportunities that enrich both professional development and patient care.
Equally important is our growing commitment to community outreach. The Academy is uniquely positioned to serve as a bridge between healthcare professionals and the broader public. We will be enhancing initiatives that bring preventive care, health education, and resources directly into our neighborhoods. Whether through partnerships with local organizations, public health events, or volunteer-driven programs, we aim to make a measurable difference in the well-being of Nassau County residents.
I am especially proud to highlight the continuation and expansion of our “Pride in the Profession Scholarship.” This initiative reflects our belief that the future of medicine depends on supporting talented, compassionate individuals at the earliest stages of their journey. By providing financial assistance and encouragement to aspiring medical students, we are investing not just in careers, but in the future standard of care in our communities.
Looking ahead, we are also exploring new and innovative initiatives that reflect the evolving role of organized medicine. Among them are enhanced mentorship pathways connecting seasoned physicians with students and trainees, expanded collaborations with educational institutions, and forums designed to address the challenges and opportunities facing today’s healthcare professionals. We are committed to fostering environments where ideas are exchanged freely, leadership is cultivated, and meaningful solutions take shape.
Additionally, we recognize the importance of strengthening professional connections within our membership. Opportunities for networking, interdisciplinary collaboration, and shared learning will continue to grow, ensuring that the Academy remains a vibrant and supportive professional home for all.
The Nassau Academy of Medicine has always stood for more than clinical excellence; it represents a shared dedication to service, integrity, and lifelong learning. As we build on that foundation, I encourage each of you to take an active role in shaping the direction of our organization. Your voice, experience, and participation are vital to our continued success.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the Academy and to the people we serve. I look forward to working alongside you as we continue to advance our mission with purpose and pride.
With kind regards,
Ronald B. Menzin, MD
President, Nassau Academy of Medicine
